During this on-line course, we will explore why Reading for Pleasure is so important and how developing a love of reading will impact on children’s success in education and future life chances.

We will provide guidance on how to:

• Develop a Reading for Pleasure culture in your school
• Audit current practice and identify key next steps for your school
• Develop a Reading for Pleasure action plan
• Improve the range, quality and relevance of reading materials
• Use the key messages from Ofsted and the revised Reading Framework
• Increase the provision of books to reflect diversity and develop empathy
• Engage every member of the school community.

Suitable audience: English Subject Leads and members of SMT. This course is particularly suited to anyone who is new to the role of Subject Lead or is looking for a new approach.
