Developing Oracy (Zoom)
During this online course, we will look at recent research on the impact of oracy-rich curriculums. We will explore why Oracy is so important and the impact it has on success in education and future life chances.
We will provide guidance on how to:
- Use current research and published documents to identify whole school priorities
- Look at the progression of Oracy skills from EYFS to Year 6
- Identify key areas of the English National Curriculum that develop Oracy
- Carry out an audit of current practice
- Establish ways to build more opportunities for all aspects of Oracy across the wider curriculum
- Make Oracy a whole school priority
- Write an Action Plan for your school.
Suitable audience: English Subject Lead and members of SMT. This course is particularly suited to anyone who is new to the role of Subject Lead or is looking for a new approach.
