This course will provide you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to teach reading, writing and oracy confidently in your new year group, helping you to prioritise key learning for the Autumn Term and beyond.

We will provide year-specific guidance and support on:

• Key subject knowledge, including grammar & punctuation
• Prioritising foundational skills for reading and writing
• Developing oracy skills including vocabulary
• Teaching reading – decoding, fluency, comprehension, reading for pleasure
• Teaching writing – transcription, composition, writing for pleasure.

These online courses were incredibly popular last year so we recommend booking early to secure a place.

Suitable audience:  Year 2 teachers. This course is particularly suitable for ECTs, teachers who have moved year groups or teachers who have recently returned to teaching Year 2.
